Archer Center Trustees leverage their collective giving to create impact.
The Archer Center Trust helps educate the next generation of leaders from Texas by providing vital financial support for important initiatives. For the 2020-2021 academic year, our Trustees collectively funded the areas of greatest need listed below.
Trustees commit to contributing or raising a minimum of $500 annually (payment installments are welcome). The Trust is a unique way for supporters and alumni of the Archer Center to have a significant impact on the Archer Center's future.
To join the 2021-2022 Trust, please make an online donation through the Archer Center’s online giving portal and select or choose the gift that's right for you.

2020 - 2021 Archer Center Trust Initiatives
COVID-19 Student Relief Fund
(40% of Trust funds raised) The COVID-19 health crisis and resulting unemployment in Texas and the nation have increased financial instability for many students and their families. This fund will provide students adversely affected by the pandemic with critical and immediate funding for their Archer Fellowship semester to ensure they are able to continue their education and preserve their dream of being an Archer Fellow while staying safe and healthy. Technology Support Fund (20% of Trust funds raised) As the pandemic forces the Archer Center to transition to a hybrid model of instruction that includes both in-person and virtual classes and many internship sites adapt to remote work, students are faced with a deepening digital divide because many do not have and cannot afford necessary technology or are using outdated equipment. A Trust-funded technology support fund will help students offset costs associated with procuring the technology and workspace equipment needed to thrive in a virtual learning and working environment. Scholarships to Pursue Graduate Degrees and Workforce Certifications (20% of Trust funds raised) Given the unpredictable workforce and economic climate, there is an ever-growing need for Archer Fellow alumni to grow and adapt their skills to remain competitive in the workforce. This initiative will provide scholarships to Archer Fellow alumni pursuing graduate, doctoral, law and medical degrees as well as certifications like project management or coding. These scholarships will be awarded through an application process managed by the Archer Fellow Alumni Association and will bolster the Archer Center’s alumni engagement efforts. Expanded Virtual Workshops and Programming (10% of Trust funds raised) Based on student, alumni and stakeholder feedback, there is growing need for professional development, specifically virtual workshops on resume writing, networking, communication, and crisis management. Using this funding, the Archer Center will leverage experts and faculty across the UT System to provide resources to students, alumni, and the larger Archer Center community so that they may adapt to this new, virtual landscape. Increase Corpus of Trust Endowment (10% of Trust funds raised) The Founding Members of the Friends of the Archer Center Trust voted to allocate 10% of the total Trust Fund raised in its inaugural year (2014) and beyond to the principal of a permanent endowment managed by The University of Texas Investment Management Corporation (UTIMCO). This endowment helps provide long-term sustainability of the Archer Center Trust and important future initiatives. The Market Value of the permanent Friends of the Archer Center Trust Endowment is: $37,522.30 (as of 3/31/2021). |
