The Friends of The Archer Center Trust helps educate the next generation of leaders from Texas by providing vital financial support to the Center and its students. Trustees will commit to contribute or raise a minimum of $500 annually and have direct input as to how their donations are used. Each year, the Trust will be presented several initiatives developed by Archer Center staff and the Archer Fellow Alumni Association (AFAA) and will vote on which initiative(s) to fund. The Friends of The Archer Center Trust is an important building block toward sustainable fundraising in support of current and future Archer Fellows and is a unique way for supporters and alumni of The Archer Center to have a significant impact on the Center's future. Ten percent of the total amount raised from annual donations is added to a permanent Archer Center Trust Endowment to provide long-term sustainability of the Trust and important future initiatives.

2014 Funded Initiatives
Scholarships for First-Generation College Students
Each cohort of undergraduate and graduate Archer Fellows includes students who are the first in their family to pursue higher education, and often have little to no monetary support from their families. This initiative will provide a $1,000 stipend to one first-generation college student each fall, spring and summer.

Travel Vouchers for Archer Fellows
This initiative will fund 20 round-trip flights for Archer Center students from their home city to Washington, D.C., allowing students to put money they would have spent on travel toward the higher cost of living in D.C.

Establishment of Archer Center Trust Endowment
This initiative establishes a new endowment funded by 10% of the total amount raised through annual donations to The Archer Center Trust and will help provide long-term sustainability of the Trust and important future initiatives.

Scholarships for Archer Center Alumni
View the 2014 recipients of the Archer Center Alumni Scholarship!
This initiative will allow The Archer Center to support alumni as they continue to follow their dreams by providing three $1,000 scholarships to Archer Center alumni pursuing graduate degrees, fellowships and study abroad experiences.

Scholarships for Energy Policy Fellows
UT System Campuses are at the forefront of energy research and policy, and this initiative will provide two scholarships up to $1,000 to Graduate Fellows studying energy policy.
