"I really treasure some of the lasting friendships I made during the Archer Fellowship. These connections are ones that I still look to—I met people who supported me personally and professionally and for that, I am so grateful!"
Q & A with Ragya
Please tell us more about your Archer Fellowship Program internship.
I worked at Alliance for Justice, a judicial advocacy think tank and non-profit. At the outreach team, we worked on facilitating public facing advocacy events and working on the membership program.
What has been your general career path?
I went straight from my undergraduate degree to graduate school. I plan to teach social studies and history after graduation.
How has your experience as an Archer Fellow influenced your career path and goals?
For me, a central component of the Archer Fellowship was living in Washington, D.C., where we had expansive access to a plethora of museums, monuments, and other forms of public access to American history. I really thought critically about historical narratives. That's part of the reason I'm pursuing a history degree and why I want to teach social studies/history after I complete it!
What did you value the most about your Archer Fellowship Program experience?
I really treasure some of the lasting friendships I made during the Archer Fellowship. These connections are ones that I still look to—I met people who supported me personally and professionally and for that, I am so grateful!
What do you value the most about being an alumnae?
I value how the Archer Fellowship Program pushed me to refine my own political understandings—I had to stand more firmly in my own beliefs and really consider the implications of other political standings.
What is your favorite memory as an Archer Fellow?
I really cherished moments spent with friends, including movie nights and Archer prom! Most of all, I loved experiencing Washington, D.C. (especially through the food)!
