Q & A with Natosha
Please tell us more about your current position.
I am currently a full-time doctoral candidate at The University of Texas at Austin.
Please tell us more about your Archer Fellowship Program internship.
My fellowship with NAFSCE was fulfilling and exciting. As a grassroots Black parent organization leader, I was already a member of the organization. It was a dream to intern with an organization with which I was already familiar. The organization is small but mighty, and I was welcomed into the team with open arms.
What has been your general career path?
After 17 years as a public school educator/administrator, I returned to graduate school to pursue a doctoral degree in education policy. I am currently working on my dissertation and will soon enter the job market.
How has your experience as an Archer Fellow influenced your career path and goals?
The connections and friendships I made in Washington, D.C., will last a lifetime. The Graduate Archer Fellowship provided me with so much information about national politics that I would have never had the opportunity to learn on my own. I often encourage anyone in my doctoral program to apply because it truly is a life-changing fellowship.
What did you value the most about your Archer Fellowship Program experience?
I valued the internship and the coursework; I loved the real-world application of policy in my policy class.
What do you value the most about being an alumna?

What is your favorite memory as an Archer Fellow?
Honestly, it was riding my bike to work and class in a city that values public transportation. I also loved making connections with my cohort, my internship staff, and friends from the city.
