DC Texas Exes

With over 7,500 members, the Washington, DC chapter of the Texas Exes is the largest chapter of Texas Exes outside of Texas.  Archer Center has been affiliated with the DC Texas Exes since 2001 and they maintain a strong partnership today.  Members of the DC Texas Exes chapter serve as mentors for Archer Fellows, Advisory Board members of the Archer Center, and frequently speak on career panels for the Archer Center.

Each summer, the Archer Center and the DC Texas Exes host the annual “Welcome to the Beltway: A Week in Washington, DC” seminar.  During this 4-day crash course in D.C., participants meet and mingle with professionals in DC to learn about the many career opportunities in the Washington, D.C. Over the visit, the students meet with campaign strategists, White House and Federal Agency staff, Congressional staff, senior policy analysts, seasoned political journalists for newspapers and magazines and many others, many of which are DC Texas Exes.  Additionally, the DC Texas Exes and the Archer Center host a joint Networking Reception during the week for the participants to meet other Texas Exes in the area.
