Living in Washington, D.C.
Living in Washington, DC is unlike living in Austin or Dallas or El Paso or any other place in Texas. It is a moderately dense city within the District of Columbia surrounded by more urban and suburban areas in Northern Virginia and Maryland. Most young professionals and interns rely on the Metro System for public transportation. Some people keep a car around but do not necessarily use it everyday. The cost of living can be much higher than living in Texas, but it is possible to get by on a conservative budget.
Please spend some time visiting these links to get a better feel for the city and the community to see if this is a setting you would like to spend some time in.
