Chris Allnatt - UT Dallas

Chris Allnatt was born and bred in Houston, goes to college at The University of Texas at Dallas and hopes to attend a Texas law school. As an Archer Fellow he interned at Common Cause, a non-partisan “watch-dog” group of the Federal government. He considers his most important events to shape his life to be earning his Eagle Scout award, being a pro-active senator in the Student Government Association and being Vice President of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity.

Geoff Barry - UT Dallas

Geoff Barry is a student of the University of Texas at Dallas where he is hopefully completing a degree in Government and Politics. During his tenure he has served UTD as a Multicultural Peer Advocate, where he planned and executed a slew of cultural events for the student body and worked extensively on freshman event programming. He has also been an active member in the campus GLBT community, the Black Student Alliance, and hosts a regular radio program on the university radio station. Geoff has also served as a student representative on the Media Operations Board, writes and illustrates for an on campus, monthly editorial paper, and can be found DJ’ing various dances on campus. More recently, he has become an undergraduate fellow at UTD’s Texas Center for the Study of Politics. In the private sector he has worked as a marketing designer, project manager, network technician, and sales associate for a Richardson based networking company. During his stay in DC Geoff interned for the United Nations Information Centre.

Marc Fuhrmann - UT Dallas

Born and raised in Germany, Marc left home at age sixteen to spend his senior year of high school in Seguin, TX, and returned to Texas after receiving a full scholarship to the University of Texas at Dallas, where he is currently studying business administration with a minor in government. At UTD, Marc has worked as a mentor for new international students, and currently serves as the president of the UTD Chess Club, which has won the Pan American Championship in both 2003 and 2004. Further, Marc has designed and taught a business German course for executives at the Dallas Goethe Center, and interned at his German home state's department for business development. In his free time, Marc enjoys reading classical literature, playing volleyball, and traveling. In Washington, D.C. Marc interned for Luntz Associates and the German Embassy.

Carl Holshouser - UT Austin

Carl is a junior at the University of Texas at Austin where he is majoring in Government. He holds Liberal Arts Honors, and is on the Liberal Arts Dean’s Honors List for academic excellence. Carl is a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, where he served as Vice President of Communications and New Member Class President. Carl has served as a law clerk for the prestigious Texas firm Porter, Rodgers, Dahlman, and Gordon, LLP. For the past two summers he has served as the Program Director of Camp La Junta in Hunt, Texas, where the well-being of over 500 campers and staff are under his direct supervision. Carl has worked on the campaign of Texas State Representative Elizabeth Ames Jones and is a co-founder of the Young Conservatives of San Antonio. As an Archer Fellow, Carl interned in the office of Congressman Lamar Smith.

Hamid Kadiwala - UT Dallas

Hamid Kadiwala is currently a senior government and politics student at the University of Texas at Dallas. In addition, he is also simultaneously studying Arabic language as well as Islamic law. Hamid is part of multiple distinguised programs including Collegium V and student government. Throughout his college experience he has chair several events including a regional conference on Islam. He interned in Washington, D.C. at the Arab American Institute for the Spring.

Cheng Lee - UT Dallas

Mr. Lee is currently a junior at the University of Texas at Dallas where he is part of the prestigious McDermott Scholars program. He is seeking a dual degree in Business Administration and Economics and Finance, with a minor in Government and Politics. Cheng is active on his campus, having served on the University’s Core Curriculum Committee, founded the alternative campus newspaper A Modest Proposal, hosted a show on Radio UTD, and was active during the past elections through University Democrats. While in Washington, D.C. he interned at the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities.

Veronica Lew - UT Austin

Veronica is a government and economics major who aspires to attend law school when she graduates in 2006. She has been a Fellow with Governor Rick Perry and interned at RAND Europe. Veronica spent a semester at Cambridge University, and interned at the White House while living in Washington, D.C.

Kate Lummus - UT Austin

Born in San Antonio, Kate spent her childhood abroad with her family. Now in her junior year at the University of Texas at Austin, Kate is majoring in Creative Advertising with concentrations in Government, Political Communication and Women’s Studies. A member of the Association for Women in Communication and an intern for NARAL Pro-Choice Texas in Austin, she strives to connect more young women to issues in politics. In D.C., she interned at both Senator Barbara Boxer and Senator Hillary Clinton's offices, which proved both challenging and rewarding.

Alex Marks - UT Austin

Alex is currently pursuing two degrees in UT-Austin's civil engineering and Plan 2 Honors programs. Alex has worked as an undergraduate research assistant for the UT Center for Transportation Research and as an engineering intern for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. Having served in leadership positions with the Texas Blazers, Tejas Club and the American Society of Civil Engineers, Alex has also chaired both the UT-Austin Shuttle Bus Committee and the UT College of Engineering's Roden Leadership Program. With an interest in surface transportation policy, Alex was involved with the transportation reauthorization through his internships with both the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and the Texas Department of Transportation's Legislative Affairs Office.

Kacie Moravec - UT Austin

Ms. Moravec is a junior at the University of Texas at Austin where she is pursuing dual degrees in broadcast journalism and political communications, with minors in business and government. Kacie worked for Governor Rick Perry’s 2002 campaign, and later worked for the 2003 Inaugural Committee and in the governor’s executive office. In November she campaigned in Alamogordo, New Mexico for President George W. Bush with a 72-hour task force. Kacie is a member of Kappa Delta sorority and Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity. As an Archer Fellow, Kacie worked with Choose 2 Lead and Congressman Michael McCaul's office.

Alana Parker - UT Austin

Alana is a junior at the University of Texas at Austin where she is pursuing a BA in Government and Latin American Studies. She is a member of the Institute of Latin American Studies Student Association, and she has interned for State Representative Dora Olivo. She has studied abroad in Madrid, Spain and hopes to study or work in South America. Alana has also been named the Jeffrey J. Dye Fellow for the Spring Semester. One UT Austin Archer Fellow is selected each semester for this scholarship based on a commitment to public service. While in Washington, Alana interned with the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars as well as the Organization of American States.

Umer Raffat - UT Arlington

Umer Raffat is an Honors student majoring in Pre-Med at the University of Texas at Arlington. He is Vice President for Americans for Informed Democracy, a non-profit and non-partisan worldwide student organization. He was the founder and President of an AID chapter at UTA. He has been a guest debator at a UN Foundation's "The People Speak" event, focusing on global security issues. Umer has been on the President's list at Navarro College for 2003 and was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society. He interned with the House Subcommittee on Health, through Congressman Joe Barton's office.

Katherine Shanley - UT Austin

An admirable multi-tasker, Katherine is a junior at the University of Texas at Austin where she is pursuing a degree in Communication Studies with a focus in Political Communication and a concentration in Spanish. Additionally she is a part of the Bridging Disciplines Program working on her Ethics and Leadership certificate under the chain of Politics, Law, and Social Justice. Before this past Presidential election, Katherine volunteered as a Deputy Registrar encouraging students to register and vote. She also stays busy as the head council member of public and media relations of the UT student chapter of Amnesty International. Katherine spent her Archer semester at Strat@comm.

Veronica Sicotte - UT Austin

Veronica is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin, where she is pursuing simultaneous degrees in Government and Political Communication. She is particularly interested in international relations, a passion that has been cultivated through her studies abroad in Italy, Spain, and France. Veronica is proficient in Italian and is advancing her abilities in French and Spanish. She has worked for Clean Water Action and interned at the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor’s Office as well as the International Protocol Division of the Texas Secretary of State’s Office. While in Washington, D.C. she interned with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Adam Witkov - UT Austin

Adam Ethan Witkov is a Junior Government and English major at the University of Texas at Austin. As an Archer Fellow, he interned on Capitol Hill for Texas Congressman Lloyd Doggett. Mr. Witkov has previous congressional experience working as a constituent intern at Representative Doggett's Austin office. Mr. Witkov spent his fall semester abroad studying Middle East Politics and Journalism at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He also has extensive extracurricular experience at the University of Texas, as a committee chair for the Student Senate and as a board member of the Student Event Center's Events Co Sponsorship Committee.

Katie Woody - UT Austin

Ms. Woody is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin in the College of Communication where she is pursuing a bachelor of journalism degree. Her extracurricular activities during college have included officer positions in the UT chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists and Circle K International, the nation’s largest collegiate service organization. She is also a member of several honors societies including Mortar Board and Golden Key. Additionally, Ms. Woody has served as an Orientation Advisor for the University for three years. Katie spent her time in D.C. as an intern in the USA Freedom Corps office of the White House.
