Amanda Buehler, UT AustinEnglish/French, May 2001 Amanda worked with the Partnerships to Advance Language Study and Cultural Exchange Program. She also worked with a Sudanese family in their endeavor to learn the English language. Amanda is a recipient of the Mamie E. Smith Endowed Scholarship. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Pi Delta Phi (French Honor Society), Sigma Tau Delta (English Honor Society), and the Golden Key National Honor Society. She has also studied at the Universite Marc Bloch in Strasbourg, France. She interned at the Center for International Policy |

Andrew Chen, UT AustinPlan II/English, May 2002 Andrew has interned with Texas Monthly and covered local and state news stories for The Daily Texan as a news reporter where his clips were consistently chosen for publication on a nation-wide online news media website recognizing the best journalism from college dailies. He is a recipient of the Headliners Foundation Scholarship, the Robert C. Solomon Endowed scholarship for Excellence in the Arts and Philosophy, the Joanne M. Thaman Endowed Presidential Scholarship, the Adele Steiner Burleson Writing Achievement Award and the Cabot Educational Grant. Andrew is currently a member of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and served as vice-president of University Undergraduate Toastmasters. He interned at the Department of State. |

Thaddeus DeJesus, UT AustinJournalism (News & Public Affairs) December 2001 Thad DeJesus served as news editor for The Daily Texan. He has also worked as an associate news editor and senior reporter with The Daily Texan, and as a freelance journalist for The Houston Chronicle This Week. He has won numerous awards for his reporting, including First Place for In-depth Reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists; Second Place, Best Series from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Associate; Second Place, and Best Series from the Southwestern Journalism Congress. He is also a Bolton Scholar and a Headliners Foundation Scholarship recipient. He interned with Roll Call. |

Anna Bell T. Farrar, UT AustinGovernment (Liberal Arts Honors), May 2001 Anna Bell was a legislative aide for Senator Rodney G. Ellis. She has also worked as a public policy assistant/strategic communications intern for Public Strategies, Inc. and as a communications intern with Texas Automobile Dealers Association. Anna Bell served as the Director of Communications for the UT-Austin Student Government. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the University Undergraduate Award for Superior Intellectual Achievement, UT Normandy Scholar, UT Government Scholar, and Governor's Commendation for Creativity and Talent in the Arts. She served as a mentor in the Liberal Arts Honors Program and the Freshman Leadership Organization. She interned at the Democratic Leadership Council. |

Gina Garcia, UT AustinJournalism (Broadcast) and Psychology May 2001 Gina was a television reporter with Texas Newswatch. She has also worked as a radio reporter for KBRZ 1460 AM and UT Week in Review on 90.7FM, a television reporter for KVR-TV Channel 9 student television, and a research assistant in the UT department of psychology. She was the corresponding secretary and committee head for community service for Kappa Delta Chi, a delegate to the College's student Communication Council, treasurer of the United Greek Council and the outgoing secretary of the UT Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She interned for NBC News Dateline. |

Jacob Holder, UT AustinPublic Relations with Business Foundations, May 2001 Jacob interned as an account coordinator with the PetersGroup Public Relation firm in Austin. He has externed through Communication Career Services with Ketchum Public Relation in Washington, DC where he also interned as an Archer Fellow. He worked as a peer advisor in the UT Health Professions Office and served as an orientation advisor though the UT Dean of Students office. He was active in the Public Relations Student Society of America, the College's student Communication Council, the Orientation Advisors Association, and the Texas Exes Student Chapter. He has served as a CampTexas counselor and an Honors Colloquium mentor. |

Rebecca Kruger, UT AustinPlan II/Government Honors, December 2001 Rebecca recently interned for Congressman Lloyd Doggett where she aided with constituent services, including research and reports. She served as Vice-President of the Plan II Student Association. Rebecca volunteered with the University Health Center conducting outreach education programs on campus. She participated in the Normandy Scholar and Mediterranean Crossroads study abroad programs. Her activities included membership in the Texas Exes Student Chapter, University Paraprofessional Society, and she served as a GED Tutor for UT division of Housing and Food employees. She was a National Merit Semifinalist and a member of the Golden Key Honor Society. She worked in Congressman Doggett's Washington, DC office for the semester. |

She has also been a press office intern in the Office of Governor George W. Bush, a master control operator for KVR-TV9, a box office sales representative for the UT Performing Arts Center, and a public relations intern with JKS Works- Marketing, Management, & Public Relations. She has also worked as the make-up editor for The Daily Texan, as an intern with the Travis County Democratic Party, an editorial intern with Texas Monthly and an editorial assistant with the Friendswood/Pearland Reporter News. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the UT Chapters of the Phi Eta Sigma and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Societies. Robert (Lee) Schindler, UT AustinPlan II/Pre-Med, May 2002 Lee has interned with Southwestern Medical School where he was involved in the artificial duplication and study of a genetic mutation found to eliminate the production of aldosterone in patient cases. Lee recently served as Dallas rush captain for Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He has volunteered with the Children's Hospital of Austin and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He is a National Merit Scholar, a Jesse H. Jones Scholar, and a recipient of the Texas Excellence Award for Leadership and scholarship. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Golden Key Honor Society, and the society of Collegiate Scholars. He interned at the Office of Population Affairs, Department of Health and Human Services. |
